Traditionally, flowing Chinese robes were held shut with knotted sashes. Nowadays,
there is more variety. Three types of belts with decorative knotwork are shown here:
one is a commercially bought belt embellished with hanging knot formations; the
second is a knotted belt secured at the ends with a button knot and loop; and the
third is a knotted belt with a tassel and other decorative knotwork at the ends.
