People need to know this event is on monthly so we can get
all the elderly LGBTI people out and about, rather than
feeling isolated, which a lot do. I had a few gay activities in
my teenage years, but in those days it was extremely hard to
come out. They pretty much put you in the funny farm in
the ’60s and ’70s when I was a young fella, so you ended
up staying in the closet.
