Alfred Choubrac, a Parisian, studied art along with his brother and began the
studio Workshops Choubrac, one of the first graphic design agencies in Paris.
Choubrac specialized in the playbills of the Parisian nightclub scene, being
commissioned by such venues as the Variety Theatre, Théâtre du Châtelet, Folies
Bergères, Opera Comique, Moulin Rouge, Casino de Paris, Eldorado, and Cirque
Fernando. He also executed a number of posters for bookstores. He produced
over a 100 posters in his career. His talent extended to costume design as well.
