ADVENTURE
Bolivia Handbook: The Travel Guide. Alan Murphy. Bath,
England: Footprint Books Ltd, 2002.
Yes, this is a guidebook, but it’s also a good read, with
a sense of humour, by an adventurous soul who knows
Bolivia! Always check the most updated edition.
Trekking in Bolivia: A Traveler’s Guide. Yossi Brain, Andrew
North and Isobel Stoddart. Seattle, WA: The Mountaineers
Books, 1997.
Lots of strategic advice by hikers who have blazed new
trails. One reviewer has criticised the imperfection of

through uncharted territories. From my own experience
of having to make my own maps as I go, I couldn’t do half
as good a job. The late Yossi Brain, a hero of trekkers and
mountaineers in Bolivia, also wrote Bolivia—A Climbing
Guide (The Mountaineers Books, 1999).
