Download button for the brush set that
you want to try. For this example, let’s
use the recently released Spring 2020
Brushes. Now open the Downloads
folder on your computer and locate the
file you downloaded, which is spring-
2020-update.abr in our case (circled
here). Double-click the file to install the
brushes into Photoshop. If your OS asks
you to select an application, navigate
to Photoshop on your hard drive and
click Open. Back in the Brushes panel,
the new brushes appear at the bottom
of the list (also circled); click the little
triangle to expand the brush set to see
what’s inside.
Step Three: Add a layer mask to the
smart object by clicking the circle-with-
in-a-square icon at the bottom of the
Layers panel (circled). By default, the
new mask (also circled) is active, so it has
brackets around the corners.
