Step Nine: Press X on your key-
board to flip-flop the color chips
so white is on top (circled). In the
Options Bar, set brush Opacity back
to 100% (circled) and reduce the
brush size (also circled). A value of
1200 px was used here, but try 300
on the preview image. Click or click-
and-drag atop your subject’s face(s)
to reveal eyes, nose, and...er...beak.
Step 10: Let’s add texture to the part
of the photo that’s still visible. To do
that, load the layer mask as a selection
by Command-clicking (PC: Ctrl-click-
ing) the layer mask thumbnail. The
selection looks like a bunch of march-
ing ants. Now click the image thumb-
nail (circled) to activate it.
