› › HOW TO

Step Seven: To save our LUT, first
hide the Background layer by click-
ing its Eye icon in the Layers panel,
because we don’t want to save
the image layer as part of the LUT.
Then, go to File>Export>Color
Lookup Tables. In the dialog that
appears, simply give your LUT a
Description and select any settings
you wish to apply. Click OK, nav-
igate to where you want to save
the LUT, give it a descriptive name,
and click Save. Now you have your
own custom LUT.

To apply this LUT to another image,
open the image in Photoshop, and
press Command-J (PC: Ctrl-J) to
duplicate the Background layer.
Next, in the Adjustments panel,
choose Color Lookup (second row,
rightmost icon). In the Properties
panel, select Load 3D LUT in the
top drop-down menu, navigate
to where you saved your LUT, and
click Open. It’s as simple as that,
and it’s the same process if you
want to apply a LUT you down-
loaded from elsewhere.

Note: KelbyOne members have access
to a range of free assets, including
LUTs, in the Creative Toolkit. n
