Cast: Vera Farmiga, John Goodman, Madeline
Brewer, Machine Gun Kelly
Director: Rupert Wyatt
Release date: 29 March 2019
Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes director
Rupert Wyatt returns to genre with his new
thriller Captive State. Set almost a decade after
occupation by an extraterrestrial force, the fi lm
will follow the lives of a Chicago community,
exploring the politics of people on both sides of
the confl ict. As well as helming the fi lm, Wyatt
has also written the script with Erica Beeney and
is acting as a producer alongside David Crockett.
- Godzilla: King
Of The Monsters
Cast: Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby
Brown, Sally Hawkins
Director: Michael Dougherty
Released: 31 May 2019
We’re optimistic about the third fi lm in
Legendary’s MonsterVerse, especially with
Krampus’s Michael Dougherty behind the wheel.
Vera Farmiga, Kyle Chandler and Millie Bobby
Brown lead a new story as a paleobiologist, her
ex-husband and their daughter that get caught up
in a creature-related kidnap situation. Returning
cast include Ken Watanabe and Sally Hawkins.
- Men In Black
Cast: Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson,
Liam Neeson, Emma Thompson
Director: F Gary Gray
Released: 14 June 2019
We don’t think anyone needs to know more
than Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson star
as London-based Men In Black partners to get
onboard for this, but we’re going to say more
anyway. The currently-untitled MIB fi lm is set to
be a sequel, with Iron Man’s Matt Holloway and
Art Marcum writing the script, and Liam Neeson,
Rebecca Ferguson and the always marvellous
Emma Thompson are also starring.
- Terminator 6
Released: 1 November 2019
Director: Tim Miller
Cast: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mackenzie
Davis, Linda Hamilton, Natalia Reyes
Not satisfi ed with Terminator: Genisys
(who was?), producer and Terminator creator
James Cameron is back at it again, hoping
to right all the wrongs with the currently
untitled sixth fi lm. Arnold Schwarzenegger
and Linda Hamilton are back as T-800 and
Sarah Connor respectively, while Mackenzie
Davis and Gabriel Luna are machines with
uncertain allegiances.
How to build a Terminator sequel
DO DON’T
DO bring back old cast members
DO decide whether the fi lm
is a reboot or a sequel before
you start
DO take inspiration from T2
DO NOT spell the title wrong just
for the sake of it
DO NOT endlessly reference
and replay events of the fi rst two
movies
DO NOT get ahead of yourself
and plan sequels and TV spin-offs
before the fi lm is released
