My Social Book 2022

Thomas Zak MasonI have been noticing ears that honestly look altered by someone rather than natural born or over groomed as the shape is to precise, makes me worry
and wonder if certain individuals are altering them when younger? 2

Meghan WaalsThank you so much for putting this together! Could I guest feature it in my blog 1

David MalcomBefore we got Stan, we had a full blooded Asian Leppard. His ears were a little larger than we see on most Bengals. They were actually a very big part of his
personality. I guess not being a breeder, I don't quite understand. I thought the Bengal Cats were to look as close to the wild cat as possible, and the ears are part of them.

Faye FigueroaWow, my old lady cat is 1/2 Bengal and has large round eyes and medium ears. When people see her they always say her eyes remind them of an owls eyes.
Is that a characteristic of Bengals. You cats are absolutely beautiful.

Robyn PatersonThomas Zak Mason - the second half of this article explains why the over-groomed ears look like they have been precisely cut. In my heart, I have to
believe that it is over-grooming and not cutting. Fortunately, logic supports that idea too.
Thomas Zak MasonRobyn Paterson I see why you have to belive its over grooming and I get that, but some I've seen look very suspicious to me
Robyn PatersonThomas Zak Mason - They nearly all look suspicious when the mom has removed the tip on both sides. It also doesn't help when breeders do not want to
hear that over-grooming is the likely cause of their cat's ear shape.
Christi BatesThomas Zak Mason mind of like they do to dobermans and other gog ears? Chop them They really do this to cats too??? But i guess 5-10 thousand $ some
people will sadly do anything
Christi BatesSo typo long day at work

Thomas Zak Mason I’ve read of ear hair plucking on an FB group long time ago

Robyn PatersonMeghan Waals - Thank you! I am more than happy for anyone to share the link. 1

Robyn PatersonDavid Malcom - Sometimes, the written descriptions in the standard, the interpretation of those descriptions, and the point value of the different features
do not align in a way that encourages breeders to use the leopard cat as a model. It is a little bit like breeding for a working dog versus breeding for a show dog. We use the
small forest-dwelling wildcats as our guiding light.
