BIG 4K MONITORS

All the bells, whistles and pixels you could ever need

1 Predator XB273K

£1,000, http://www.acer.com

A seriously excellent 27in IPS 4K monitor,
you get truly excellent picture quality,
with terrific colour quality, contrast and
depth. The 144Hz refresh rate means its
great for faster games too, with G-Sync
offering the best adaptive sync
technology. There’s a fine assortment of
ports – HDMI, DisplayPort and USB – to
have you covered no matter what you
want to connect to it; and offers such a
well-rounded overall experience you’ll
have zero regrets. The only downside
is the slightly underwhelming
DisplayHDR 400 HDR.

3 436M6VBPAB

£500, http://www.phillips.com

Appearing more like a TV than a
monitor, the 43in 4K HDR Philips
Momentum 436M6VBPAB is almost
cumbersome, but still very much worth a
look. Its size may present a challenge in
making sure it can fit on your desk
safely, but it is also weighty enough to
give no worries about its stability. It
may appeal to those who also have a
game console hooked up alongside
a PC, but its 4K and HDR qualities are
undeniable and it will be very appealing

  • particularly to those who take a ‘more
    is more’ approach to displays.

2 ROG Swift PG27UQ

£1,850, http://www.asus.com

An incredible IPS 144Hz display, but
expensive. As well as the bright and
detailed images the 4K and HDR-
enabled 27in display shows off, it also
incorporates Nvidia G-Sync tech.
On the back it’s a bit lean, with HDMI
2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, 3.5mm audio, and
two USB 3.0 ports, but that should cover
everything. It’s also an incredibly
well-designed bit of kit, with the stand
effectively funnelling your cables, as well
as having its own LED display.
The price is very high, but if you take
the plunge it will not disappoint.

Winner!
