the royal family, especially those who believed they had been
robbed of their rightful inheritance. Urhi-Teshub had now faded
from the scene, but there was already emerging upon it a man
whose name sounds like a drumbeat–Kurunta (Kuruntiya). The
brother or half-brother of Urhi-Teshub, Kurunta was to play an
important role in the history of the kingdom as it entered itsfinal
decades.
