trainer, who shed 160 pounds by developing a gym habit.
“You can build muscle where you want. It’s all about con-
sistency.” Lugo’s move here is a “ burnout” superset for
arm muscles and a strengthener for core and chest. You’ll
begin and end in plank for this multiphase rep, starting
with an up-down plank—that is, high plank to forearm
plank and back—then tapping hand to opposite leg (in
plank) and finishing with a push-up. Set a timer for 45 sec-
onds of doing as many reps as possible with 15 seconds of
rest, and repeat three times. “Going to failure is a great way
to build up muscle endurance,” Lugo says. “ When I was on
my weight-loss journey, I loved celebrating how far along
