The garden is 'The Japanese Garden' at the Brisbane Mt Coot-Tha Botanic
Gardens. It was designed for the 1988 Brisbane Expo by a known Japanese
landscape designer. The boulders were brought from Japan. After the
Expo was completed, with the permission of the landscape designer Kenzo
Ogata the garden was relocated as a gift to the City.
The inspiration to shoot the image Zas to recorG a subMect that haG a ZiGe
range of tones for the infrared film I was using. I liked the tree branch
leading the viewer into the image. Some trivia, as the shot had to be taken
with a R72 visible light cut filter, it had to be set up ahead of time, and
waitinJ for the many Yisitors to the JarGen to be out of the frame took
some time.
