Use the sidebar
The left–hand sidebar is where
you’ll find new shows. You can discover
popular and topical shows or sort by
category in the Browse tab. To look
through the most popular podcasts
among other users, click Top Charts.Search by phrase
One of the new features in
Podcasts is the improved search box.
Every podcast is transcribed, and you
can now find episodes or shows based
on a phrase mentioned in an episode.
It’s surprisingly effective.Subscribe to
a podcast
Got to a show’s page in Podcasts, then
click Subscribe on the right. It’ll now
appear in Listen Now in the sidebar. To
unsubscribe, click the three dots next
to Subscribe, then click Unsubscribe.APPLE HAS LONG used iTunes
as a catch–all hub for podcasts,
music, movies and more.
But in macOS Catalina, the
company has split all these functions
into separate apps. That means if you’re
a podcast fan and want to play your
favorite shows on your Mac, there’s
a new app to get to grips with.
Fortunately, Apple’s Podcasts app is
easy to learn and contains some useful
features to help you enjoy your podcasts.
Although it’s not as in–depth as rivalsPodcasts on your Mac

like Overcast or Castro on iOS, that works
in Podcasts’ favour if you just want to get
up and running as quickly as possible.
That doesn’t mean there aren’t any
deeper controls. You can sort your
podcasts along common themes using
Stations, and search for episodes based
solely on a sentence or snippet you may
