Download on iPhone
The process on iPhone is the
same as on iPadOS. To save storage
space and make downloading faster,
head to Settings > Apple TV > iTunes
Videos > Purchases and Rentals and
select Standard Definition quality.
Rent or buy on iPad
Everything you’ve previously
bought or rented on your Mac, iPad,
iPhone or Apple TV should be available
across all your devices, provided you’re
logged in to iTunes with the same Apple
ID. We’re about to download Hala here.
Manage downloads
Again, you can see what you’ve
downloaded to your iPhone at Apple
TV > Library > Downloaded and can
manage the content from there. Or
head to Settings > iPhone Storage >
Apple TV+ to delete unwanted content.
Manage downloads
Anything you’re downloading
(or have previously downloaded) in
the TV app will appear in Library >
Downloaded. To watch a download, tap
it to start playback. To delete it, swipe
left, then tap the red Delete button.
Other content
You’re not limited to Apple TV+
and iTunes content, of course. Content
from third parties (such as BBC iPlayer)
appears under Apple TV > Watch Now >
What to Watch. (You’ll need to manage
downloads from their specific apps.)
More deletion
options
To delete multiple downloads at the
same time, go to Library > Downloaded,
then tap Edit in the top–right corner.
Next, tap on items you want to delete,
then tap Delete in the top–right corner.
MANAGE TV STORAGE ON MAC
Remove Apple TV downloads automatically
One drawback of downloading Apple TV app content on Mac is that you can very
quickly fill up the available space. To ensure that doesn’t happen, head to Apple
> About This Mac and click the Storage tab, then Manage. In the window that
appears you’ll see four options: Store in iCloud, Optimize Storage, Empty Bin
Automatically, and Reduce Clutter. In the Optimize Storage section, click the
Optimize button, then Optimize again in the pop–up window. Now any Apple TV
downloads on your Mac will automatically be deleted once you’ve watched them.
