Create a Levels Adjustment
Layer and change the white
point to 200. Close the dialog
box and change the layer’s Blending Mode
to Multiply. Next, create a Black & White
Adjustment Layer and increase Yellows
to 100 before closing the dialog and setting
the layer Opacity to 40%. Create a Curves
Adjustment Layer, lighten the image and
close the dialog. Finally, Shift-click on the
Levels Layer and hold down Ctrl/Cmd+G,
then set the Opacity of the Group to 50%.

Colour luminosity
Create a Black & White
Adjustment Layer and increase
Yellows to 115 and reduce Greens
to -135. The image will be too dark after
these changes, so close down the dialog
box and create a Curves Adjustment
Layer. Click in the centre of the curve,
and drag up and to the left to lighten.
If you accidentally place a point you
don’t need, simply click on it and drag
away from the curve to delete it. Once
you’ve finished, close the dialog box.

With the Background Layer
selected, press Ctrl/Cmd+J
to duplicate it. Go to Filter >
Camera Raw Filter; after the dialog box
opens, set Texture to +50 and Clarity to
+40 before clicking OK. When the filter
closes, press Ctrl/Cmd+J to duplicate
the enhanced layer, then go to Filter >
Other > High Pass and set Radius to
7.0 Pixels. Click OK, then change the
Blending Mode of the layer from Normal
to Overlay to make it transparent.
