Capital City
Addis    Ababa   is  the    capital  and     largest     city    of Ethiopia.    It  is  thus    the
place   where   most    people  fly in  and out of  if  not travelling  overland.
Currency
The  official    currency    of  Ethiopia    is  the     Ethiopian   Birr    (ETB).  The
Ethiopian    Birr    is  subdivided  into    santim;     100     santim  =   1   ETB.    Br  is
the symbol  used    for the Birr.
Language
In   Ethiopia,   the     official    language    is  Amharic.    However,    Ethiopians  also
speak   various regional    languages   that    coexist with    the Amharic language.
It   uses    a   system  from    the     Ge’ez   script,     which   serves  as  an  abugida     for
various Eritrea and Ethiopian   languages.  The writing is  known   as  fidäl   and
is  used    for religious   use within  the Ethiopian   Orthodox    Tewahedo    Church.
Religion
Religion     in  Ethiopia    consists    of  several     faiths.     Among   the    Abrahamic
religions,   the     most    numerous    are     Christianity    (Ethiopian  Orthodoxy,
Pentay,  Roman   Catholic),  totalling   62.8%,  followed    by  Islam   at
33.9%.
Location    and size
Ethiopia     is  a   landlocked  country     in  eastern     Africa;     it  has     an  area    of
approximately    1,130,000   sq  km,     with    a   length  of  1,640   km  and     a
width   of  1,570   km.
Population
At  the time    of  writing,    the population  of  Ethiopia    was 15,000,000.
Internet    coverage
