Over 100 male participants,
representing 7 universities
in 3 countries, took part in
the competition, hosted by
the University of Miskolc in
collaboration with the Hungarian
University Sports Federation.
Present in Miskolc on behalf
of EUSA were: György Kovács,
Technical Commission Vice
Chair, Water Polo Technical
Delegate, Gábor Vogel,
and Cristina Kenely, EUSA
Representative.
The championship concluded
with a stunning victory for
Budapest Business School,
which defeated the University of
Pecs 14-9 in the final match. The
bronze medal was won by the
University of Debrecen, which
defeated Corvinus University of
Budapest in a closely-contested
game 7-6 to Debrecen.
Márton Keresztri of Pécs
University claimed the Most
Valuable Player award. The
Best Goalkeeper was Márk
Gábor Szalai from the Budapest
Business School, while Kristóf
Sziládi from Corvinus University
was the Top Scorer.
The third edition of the European
Universities Water Polo
Championship will be held in
Vukovar, Croatia in 2025, while
Water Polo will be also featured
in the European Universities
Games in Debrecen-Miskolc,
Hungary 2024.
