CHRISTMAS TOURNAMENT

DUBROVNIK, CROATIA

DECEMBER 14-17, 2023

The 26
th
edition of the International Student Christmas Tournament in Dubrovnik

has concluded, marking another fantastic success this year. The event, held from

December 14 to 17, was organized by the Dubrovnik University Sports Association,

with collaborative efforts from the Student Centre Dubrovnik, Student Union of

Dubrovnik, the University of Dubrovnik, and the Croatian Academic Sports Federation.

The tournament, proudly held
under the patronage of the
European University Sport
Association (EUSA), marked
another successful sports
gathering.

Student-athletes engaged in
spirited competition in men’s
basketball and women’s
volleyball, with 6 basketball
teams and 6 volleyball teams
facing off across the halls of
Dubrovnik’s Sport Center. The
tournament spanned three
days, encompassing the opening
ceremony, qualifying games and
matches, closing ceremony, and
entertaining programs, such
as the Dubrovnik city tour. On
December 14th, the opening
ceremony set the stage, with
the Organizational Committee

extending a warm welcome to

the participating teams.

Following the basketball

tournament matches, the

Faculty of Electrical Engineering

and Computing of the University

of Zagreb (CRO) claimed the top

spot on the winner’s podium,

with the University of Osijek

(CRO) securing the second

position, and the Polytechnic of

Vukovar (CRO) earning the third

position.

In the volleyball tournament,

the University of Prishtina

(KOS) clinched the gold medal,

maintaining its position from

a year ago, while the Faculty

of Electrical Engineering and

Computing of the University of

Zagreb (CRO) secured the silver

medal. The bronze medal was

claimed by the University of

Zadar (CRO).

The tournament reached its

official conclusion during the

closing ceremony, where medals

and trophies were presented

to the most successful team,

individuals, and fair play teams.

In addition to the tournament

and sports matches, our guests

enjoyed complimentary access

to Dubrovnik’s premier tourist

attraction—the City walls.

Teams also had the option to

participate in an organized city

tour and engage in various social

activities.

The next edition of this

tournament will be organised

from 19th to 22nd of December

2024.
