    Cauwer (1828–73). Designed in
    Moorish style and large enough to
    seat 3,000 people, the building was
    inaugurated in the presence of Otto
    von Bismarck in 1866.

    Prague, built in 1270 in Gothic style,
    and still in use today. Its impressive
    exterior is testimony to the
    importance of the Jewish community
    in the city.
