Dan Thompson and Melody
Needham of Professional Muffler
& Brake will be joining community
activist and entertainer Bobby Holley
and the Church of Living Water for a
bike giveaway for children in need.
In the past, they helped Holley, he
said, with a winter clothing drive

for kids by giving out socks, hats
and gloves, and also some bikes for
Christmas gifts.
This year’s bike winners have
already been selected from essays
titled “Why Do I Need a Bike.”
This event will be held from
1-2 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at

Bobby Holley last Saturday (June 22) at Battle Creek Tile & Mosaic. The next
free bike giveaway is this Saturday (June 29) at Professional Muffler & Brake
in B.C. (Photo provided)

Springfield.
Some community leaders will also
be speaking to kids at the event, said
Holley.
Holley added that he will continue
to raise funds for bicycles throughout
the summer by performing as a one-
man band and also with the Bobby
Holley Band at different sites around
the county.
“There are a lot of needy kids who
could use a nice, new, shiny bike and
we are going to try and make sure
that those needy kids get one with the
help of the community by joining in

together,” said Holley, adding that he
wants kids to have good, safe recre-
ational fun this summer.
Last Saturday (June 22), Holley’s
second free bicycle giveaway to kids
in grades 3-6 took place at Battle
Creek Tile & Mosaic.
Holley’s first bike giveaway for
summer 2024 took place June 15 at
Seelye Kia of B.C.
Youths are eligible to be selected
to receive a new bike by turning in
essays on “Why Do I Need a Bike?”
To submit essays, or for more infor-
mation about Holley’s annual sum-
mer bicycle giveaway program, con-
tact Holley at the event.
