passed away
peacefully on
Monday morn-
ing, June 24,- He was
born in Detroit,
Michigan, on
March 13, 1936,
the son of John
S. and Myra
C. (Ehlenfeldt)
Kerridge.
He graduated from Battle Creek Central
High School with the Class of 1953 and
attended Western Michigan University.
Roy’s last employment was at the Credit
Bureau of Battle Creek and he previously
worked at Security National Bank.
Roy married the “Love of His Life,”
Karolyn K. Rudy, on June 21, 1958; she
sadly preceded him in death on January
6, 1986. He was also preceded in death
by his parents; and his son, Randy, on
March 2, 2004.
Roy is survived by his daughter, Cindy
(Dorothy Pletzke) Kerridge of Battle
Creek.
Roy enjoyed being with his family, bowl-
ing, playing golf, watching his kids in
sports, and cheering for MSU, Tigers and
Red Wings. He also loved woodworking
and taking care of his yard and flowers.
Funeral services to celebrate Roy’s life
were held 11 a.m., Monday, July 1, 2024,
in the chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be
directed to Alzheimer’s Association and/or
the American Heart Association.

Ellenor Freeland
passed away
peacefully on
July 5, 2024,
surrounded by
her children and
grandchildren.
She was born
May 13, 1944,
the daughter of
Harold Carl and
Grace Laura
(Barringer)
Weber. Babette was a loving mother to her
children and blessed to several grandchil-
dren and great-grandchildren whom they
called “Nana.”
Babette was a dedicated nurse for
25 years at Community Hospital in the
E.R., then she went to the Battle Creek
V.A. Medical Center and worked as a
psych nurse for another 25 years until
she retired.
In her spare time, she loved to read and
watch her favorite soap operas, as well
as enriching her grandchildren’s lives by
teaching them about the Bible.
Her life was rich with the love of herfamily, including her son Robert A.H.
Freeland (Heather, known to her as
“Grandma Bun”) of South Carolina,
and her daughter, Sandra L. Freeland-
Evil (Randy) of Battle Creek, Michigan;
her beloved grandchildren, Melanie
Breazeale (Christopher) of South Carolina,
Jordan Freeland (Sarah) of Battle Creek,
Michigan, Babette Freeland of Battle
Creek, Michigan, Nicholas Freeland of
Battle Creek, Michigan, and Liam Evil of
Battle Creek, Michigan; great-grandchil-
dren Ryleigh Breazeale, Nathaniel Dean,
Grayson Breazeale, Zariah Ladd, Amyra
Taylor, Raelynn Etheridge, Jaxon Snider,
Braedyn Gaines, Gabriel Freeland and
Janiya Freeman.
She was preceded in death by her par-
ents, Harold and Grace; and her brothers,
Harold and Hazen Weber.
Visitation will be held at St. Paul
Evangelical Lutheran Church on Monday,
July 15, 2024, from 11 a.m. to noon, with
the funeral service to immediately follow
at noon. Burial will take place at Bedford
Cemetery in Bedford Township, MI.
