Out on the field, Evans – along
with some of his assistants plus BCC
coaches – the ran the youths through
drills.
Evans, by the way, hails from
Indianapolis and Ben Davis High;
at U-M from 2016-20 as a run-
ning back he had 320 carries for
1,795 yards and 15 touchdowns and
caught 49 passes for 479 yards and
two more TDs; he was drafted in
the sixth round of the 2021 draft by
the Cincinnati Bengals; and he is
now both a running back and a kick
returner for Cincinnati.
Said Matthews: “Doing these
camps, we just want kids to know
that there are a lot of people out there
that want to help a student-athlete
and care about them. Kids should
know that, whether they’re playing
football or not.”
