NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE
Pennfield Charter Township
Calhoun County, Michigan
TO: The residents and property owners of the Charter Township of
Pennfield, Calhoun County, Michigan and any other interested persons:
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a proposed Parking Violations Bureau
Ordinance was submitted to the Township Board for first reading at its
regular meeting conducted on June 11, 2024.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that said the proposed Ordinance
has been adopted by the Township Board at a regular meeting held at the
Pennfield High located at 8299 Pennfield Road, Battle Creek, MI 49017, on
Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.
A full copy of the proposed Parking Violations Bureau Ordinance has been
posted at the office of the Township Clerk at the address printed below and
has been posted on the Township’s website at https://www.pennfieldmi.
gov/. A summary of provisions contained in the proposed Zoning Ordinance
amendments are as follows:
• Section 1. Establishment of Parking Violations
Bureau. This section establishes a Township Parking
Violations Bureau
• Section 2. Purpose of ordinance. This section
states that the purpose of this ordinance controls
parking on streets, roads and parking areas.
• Section 3. Parking offenses and civil fines. This
section sets forth a violation and fine schedule.
• Section 4. Citation requirements and admission
of responsibility. This section states that anyone
receiving a citation shall be advised on the offense
and date of time of when which it is alleged to occur.
Any alleged violator may admit or deny responsibility.
An admission requires the violator to pay the fine to
the Township.
• Section 5. Denial of responsibility. Any person
who denies responsibility shall be advised that a
citation will be submitted to the 10th District Court to
be processed.
• Section 6. Acounting of citations. This section
requires the Parking Violations Bureau to retain
citations and account monthly to the Township Board.
• Section 7. Severability. The provisions of this
ordinance are severable.
• Section 8. Effective date and repeal of conflicting
ordinances. This ordinance takes effect 30 days
after publication, after adoption.
