Calling all appetites and thirsts: The
annual Backyard Burgers & Brews
Festival will take place Saturday,
Aug. 24 from 6-10 p.m. at Festival
Market Square and the entire down-
town social district in downtown
Battle Creek.
Admission to attend is free, and a
wide variety of eats and beverages
will be available for fees.
“You are invited to bring your own
lawn chairs to enjoy the festival, just
like in your own backyard,” said
Kara Beer of the event sponsor Battle
Creek Area Chamber of Commerce in
a statement.
“(And) be on the lookout for repre-
sentatives from Honor Credit Union,
who will be on hand for a special
cash mob during the beginning hours
of the festival.”
The event will include several local
burger and brew vendors, along with
music and kid activities.

Burger competitors for prizes will

be competing for “Best” burger this

year, Beer said. “The overall judges

award will receive a trophy. Plus,

attendees have an opportunity to vote

for their favorite during the festival

for “People’s Choice” award.
