The 19th annual Consumers
Professional Credit Union Classic
Car Cruise-In was another big hit
for car and vehicle lovers last Friday
night (Aug. 16) on Capital Avenue
SW in the Lakeview area.
About 100 vehicles, along with
hundreds of spectators, filled a
closed-off Capital Avenue SW
street between Territorial Road and
Columbia Avenue for a three-hour
period – from 6-9 p.m.
Cars and vehicles on display had to
be at least 25 years old to qualify for
the show.
Along with the viewing of vehicles,
attendees also visited food and drink
establishments in the area, and music
filled the air from the show’s start to
finish.
Note: The CPCU Classic Car
Cruise-In took place the evening
before the third annual “Cruise the
Creek” event sponsored by the local
AutoMODIFIED group took place
from 4-9 p.m. in downtown Battle
Creek.

CPCU Classic Car Cruise-In another hit in Lakeview area
cars and more than 3,000 people who
attended.
The Cruise the Creek event was
for vehicles 25 years old or older,
Newsome said, and/or for heavily-
modified vehicles.
“This year’s ‘Cruise the Creek’ was
definitely a great one and a fun one,”
Newsome said, “and we’re definitely
on for the fourth annual ‘Cruse’
again next year – with maybe a few
other things planned as well, like
adding a few things that might be fun
for the kids.”
Newsome added that
AutoMODIFIED’s next big commu-
nity event will be the organization’s
third annual Hollow Creek Trunk or
Treat in downtown B.C. the Sunday
before Halloween (Oct. 27).
And, Newsome said,
AutoMODIFIED will additionally
sponsor another “Toys for Tots” fun-
draiser in November and December.

AutoMODIFIED’s Facebook site.
