for a recipient to afford, so we sold it and used the money to acquire and fix more vehicles,” explained Robins. The Rings Ministries mission statement is: Wrench. Bless. Repeat, referring to fixing, giving and repeat- ing the process. Robins explained that the name, Rings Ministries, has to do primarily with the “ring” being a symbol for infinity and inclusion. To date, they are on their 77th vehicle in five years’ time. “I even compiled and wrote a book about the first 50 donations called ‘The First 50 Cars,’ which explains more details about the program and our first recipients,” explained Robins. Rings Ministries uses the facilities, on-site, at Sunshine Toyota with tools that were purchased through donations and fund raisers. In turn, those tools and the work being done on their vehicles is per- formed by Sunshine’s original, and retired mechanic, Dale Rupe, who

spent 30 years wrenching at the deal- ership. “If it weren’t for Dale and the 40+ volunteers we have, along with our 10 board members, this wouldn’t be possible,” said Robins. “Our people are instrumental in what we do for others; it’s wonderful.” Rings Ministries performs the maintenance and repairs on Saturdays, at Sunshine, and pay only $1 per week to use said facilities. “Sunshine is the main contrib- utor, along with Woodland Church, to our efforts with this endeavor. Without them and their help, it may not be what it is today,” Robins said. Robins said all that is needed to apply are references, proof of income and, upon being selected, proof of a valid drivers license and proof of insurance on the vehicle they are being gifted with. “It’s real- ly special that we get to be there for individuals that truly need the help,” the Robins’ concluded.
