The ninth annual Backyard Burgers
& Brews Festival – held on Saturday,
Aug. 24 – transformed downtown
Battle Creek into a lively hub of fla-
vor, music and community spirit.
With an estimated 8,000 to 10,000
attendees, the festival was a resound-
ing success, offering an unforgettable
evening that celebrated local culinary
talent and the vibrant culture of B.C.
The festival featured an impres-
sive lineup of 50 food trucks and 11
downtown restaurants and bars, all
within the established Social District.
The culinary competition was
fierce, with nine participants battling
for the title of the best burger. The
Twisted Burger Food Truck claimed
the coveted Judges Award; while
One Nation – Tap & Table earned
the overall People’s Choice Burger,
winning the hearts (and taste buds)
of festival-goers.
In addition to the mouth-watering
burgers, attendees were treated to
live performances by three bands:
On the Back 9, the Cereal City Brass
Quintet, and Barefoot Blonde. Each
brought their unique sound, add-
ing to the electric atmosphere that
resonated throughout the evening.
And it was again BC Sound that was
the glue holding together the music
selections.
“This year’s festival was a true
celebration of our community and its
vibrancy,” said Kara Beer, President/
CEO of the Battle Creek Area
Chamber of Commerce, the event’s
main sponsor.
“The turnout was incredible, and it
was heartwarming to see everyone
come together to enjoy what Battle
Creek has to offer. And the beautiful
