SUMMARY OF ACTIONS TAKEN BY TOWNSHIP BOARD
8-19-24
This is a summary of actions taken by the Marshall Township Board of Trustees at its
regular meeting held on August 19, 2024, at 6 p.m. at the Marshall Township Hall, 13551 Myron
Avery Drive, Marshall, MI. Members present: David Bosserd, Supervisor; Jeffrey Albaugh,
Clerk; David VanArman, Treasurer; Robert Lyng and Dan Walsh, Trustees. Absent: None.
• The Supervisor called the meeting to order at 6 p.m.
• The proposed agenda was approved.
• Received reports: Permits issued; Fire Chief; Treasurer; Station 1 Project.
• Approved: Minutes of 7-15-24 Board meeting; bill list total of $543,028.31;2024-25
Budget and General Appropriations Act Amendment #1 RE: Sources of funding
realignment; re-appointment of David VanArman to Fire Board for term ending 6-30-
30; accepting resignation of Zoning Administrator Paul Anderson effective 8-31-24;
authorizing Clerk to place ad in Ad-Visor and Shopper inviting letters of interest to
fill the vacant Zoning Administrator position; extending reporting date for Planning
Commission on Marijuana regulation referral by Board to 3-31-25; setting Monday,
September 30, 2024, at 7 p.m. for a joint workshop with Planning Commission on
Marijuana regulation and other Zoning matters of interest; authorizing a letter from
the Township Board requesting an update from the Calhoun County Road Depart-
ment and NextEra for the corrective actions for the water issue on H Drive North
between 13 and 14 Mile Roads for the 9-3-24 Planning Commission (requested by
the Planning Commission); changing Township Representative under the Develop-
ment Agreement with MAEDA for Fire Station 1 from Treasurer David VanArman
to Supervisor David Bosserd with Clerk Jeff Albaugh as alternate representative;
changing the December regular meeting to Monday, December 9, 2024, at 7 p.m..

Athletics Association’s Fall 2024
campaign for local and state-wide
affiliated schools got underway Aug.
12 with first practices being allowed,
and regular-season events in some
sports began Aug. 15.
Following are the varsity prep
sports schedules for local teams for
the next couple of weeks.
Proudly, the Shopper News is the

year long in a comprehensive form
involving all city high school varsity
teams under the MHSAA umbrella,
along with the schedules of four other
nearby schools that are part of the
SN’s sports coverage area: Athens,
Galesburg-Augusta, Climax-Scotts
and Gull Lake.

months or for the entire 2024-25
MHSAA school year.
