All-conference three times.
All-region twice.
All-state a year ago and the
Beavers' reigning team MVP.
Harper Creek senior Cassidy
Pratley managed to find one more
run on the ladder of Michigan high
school volleyball honors to climb up.
It was announced recently that the
Beavers' senior is a finalist for the
2024 Miss Volleyball Award present-
ed by the Michigan Interscholastic
Volleyball Coaches Association each
fall. She is one of ten seniors from
across the state to earn a spot on the
list of finalists.
Pratley and the Beavers are current-
ly the top ranked team in the state in
Division 2. They rolled to three wins
at a quad they hosted last Tuesday,
Sept. 24, knocking off both Pewamo-
Westphalia (ranked ninth in D3) and
Niles in two sets and scoring a three-
set win over a Plainwell team ranked
sixth in the state in D2.

Plainwell pulled out a 28-26 win in
the opening set of that match, but the
Beavers rallied for 25-12 and 15-7
wins in the final two sets. Pratley
smacked 23 kills in the win over the
Trojans, while hitting .447 on 47
attacks. Senior Ella Chantrenne added
seven kills and sophomore Camille
Robinson had seven too.
Robinson added 11 digs. Senior
Ella Chantrenne had a team-high 12
digs for Harper Creek. Junior setter
Taegen Anderson put up 34 assists.
Harper Creek followed up those
wins by taking the championship at
the Three Rivers Invite Saturday,
Sept. 28. The Beavers didn't drop a
set in five matches Saturday, outscor-
ing Loy Norrix, Essexville Garber,
Centreville, Three Rivers and East
Grand Rapids.
The Harper Creek girls were sched-
uled to return to Interstate-8 Athletic
Conference action at Parma Western
Tuesday, Oct. 2, and host Hastings
for a conference match next Tuesday,
Oct. 9.
