Executive Editor
It was her career in video produc-
tion that led Texas native Linda
Tafolla to Battle Creek in 1992 and
it’s her love for the visual arts that
led her to Commerce Pointe where
she has been the volunteer gallery
curator since 1999.
Now, she’s celebrating by invit-
ing the public to the downtown
building across Michigan Avenue
from Cafe Rica (corner of Michigan
and Division) to enjoy a retrospec-
tive art show called “25 Years...A
Retrospective” complete with works
from artists who have exhibited there
over the past two and a half decades.
“I’m hoping that with this 25 year
anniversary art exhibit event, that it
will bring people to the understand-
ing that that building is there for
them to come and explore the art
that’s there,” she said. “They don’t
have to buy anything, they can just
Linda Tafolla has gathered art from nearly everyone who ever exhibited at
the Commerce Pointe Gallery in downtown Battle Creek since she began
curating the exhibits there 25 years ago for a special show called “25 Years
- A Retrospecitive.” There will be an opening reception Friday, Oct. 18, 4-7

Linda Tafolla celebrates 25
years at the Commerce Pointe
Gallery with special exhibit
come and appreciate what’s there.”
The building is open daily from
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through
Friday.
It not only houses the gallery
exhibits but several business offices
as well.
“The fun thing about it is, if you
go in the front door,” she said, “the
doors open automatically, it’s like
‘Open Sesame!’ but they don’t know
that until they explore it.”
The exhibit features works from
25 different artists from around the
country who have exhibited there
in the past including many from
Battle Creek like Xenia Rose Shafer,
Coco Sweezy, Fausto Fernandez and
Tafolla herself.
Also featured are works from
Lori Feldpausch, formerly from
Marshall but now from Traverse
City, James Palmer from Kalamazoo,
