Marshall Community Credit
Union, in collaboration with local
law enforcement, will host a series
of fraud awareness educational
events in Battle Creek, Coldwater
and Marshall as part of International
Fraud Awareness Week, Nov. 17-23,
said spokesperson Alyssa Jones.
The events, called “Fighting Fraud:
Protecting Our Communities,” aims
to educate attendees on the vari-
ous types of fraud, including cyber
scams, financial exploitation and
more.
“In an era of increasingly sophis-
ticated and rapidly evolving fraud,
staying informed on what current
fraud tactics are being used is essen-
tial to protecting yourself and your
finances,” said Jones.
The Battle Creek event will be held
at Battle Creek Friends Church, 1305
Credit union, law enforcement
events to address fraud
Olive St., on Monday, Nov. 18, from
9-11 a.m. The Battle Creek COPS
Unit will make the presentation, and
refreshments will be provided.
The Coldwater session will be held
at the Branch County Library, 10 E.
Chicago St., on Wednesday, Nov.
20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a
presentation by a Michigan State
Police trooper. A light lunch will be
provided.
The Marshall event will be held at
the Marshall Library, 124 W. Green
St., on Thursday, Nov. 21, with ses-
sion 1 from noon to 2 p.m., and ses-
sion 2 from 6:30-8 p.m. A City of
Marshall police officer will present
the program.

Bronson Battle Creek and Bronson
Methodist Hospitals have achieved
the Michigan Alliance for Innovation
on Maternal Health (MI AIM) Gold
Quality Improvement Designation.
This is a distinguished honor rec-
ognizing both hospitals for improv-
ing their care for mothers and babies.
A total of 26 hospitals earned gold
status.
“The Bronson BirthPlace – with
locations in Battle Creek and
Kalamazoo – have long been recog-
nized as leaders in the care of preg-
nant patients and their infants,” said
Carol Fuller, director of Bronson
Women and Children’s Services.
“This recognition reflects the dedica-
tion and effort of our entire organiza-
tion to provide the highest level of
care to all our patients.”

by implementing special safety prac-
tices. These practices target key con-

hospitals to provide clear guidelines,
necessary tools, staff training and
practice drills to effectively prevent
and handle serious maternal health
complications.
