At the Div. 2 cross-country
regional on Oct. 26 in Portage,
four Harper Creek High School
runners qualified for the MHSAA
State Finals to be held Nov. 2 at
Michigan International Speedway.
In the boys race, Dominic Lowrie
finished in second place with a
time of 15:46.4 and teammates

Athens volleyball
wins in straight sets
The Athens High School vol-
leyball team hosted Camden-
Frontier on Oct. 24 for a league
crossover match. Athens won in
straight sets by scores of 25-14,
25-19 and 25-16.

In the girls race, Harper Creek’s
Julia Faber finished eighth to
qualify for state. Teammate Rylie
Zumer had a top 30 finish, coming
in 29th with a time of 21:24.63.
Overall, the boys team finished
in fourth, while the girls team fin-
ished in eighth place.
