court (Sung shih 8:12b).
On July 11, 1016, Uighurs offered peacocks to the Liao court (Liao
shih 15:10b).
In 1016, Uighurs from Kan chou informed the Sung court that
their qaghan had died (Sung shih 490:16a).
In the 3rd month (April) of 1017, Chen-tsung recognized the new
Uighur qaghan of Kan chou as Qaghan King Who Cherishes Repose
and Favours Civilization and presented him garments, golden belts,
vessels, silk and horse trappings (Sung hui-yao kao ts’e 197:8a).
In the 2nd month (Feb./Mar.) of 1018, envoys from the Uighur
qaghan of Kan chou to the Sung court offered gifts. Chen-tsung gave
them ample presents (Sung shih 490:16a; Sung hui-yao kao ts’e 197:8a;
Wen-hsien t’ung-k’ao 347:30b).
On Apr.4, 1020, envoys from the Uighur qaghan of Kan chou to
the Sung court offered regional objects (Sung hui-yao kao ts’e 197:8b).
On Dec.27, 1020, envoys from the Uighurs of Kan chou and from
the qaghan and Lion King of Kucha offered big-tailed white sheep
to the Sung court (Sung shih 8:20b; 490:16a; Sung hui-yao kao 1076:3a;
ts’e 197:8b).
In the 5th month (May/June) of 1023, envoys from the Uighur
qaghan of Kan chou to the Sung court offered regional objects (Sung
shih 490:16a).
In the 6th month (June/July) of 1023, Emperor Jen-tsung of Sung
recognized the qaghan of Kan chou as Qaghan Who Attaches Himself
to Loyalty and Maintains Obedience (Sung shih 490:16a).
On June 10, 1024, a mission of 14 men from the Uighur qaghan
of Kan chou to the Sung court offered three horses, yellow barbarian
pongee, and fine white cotton fabrics. The chief minister separately
presented two horses (Sung shih 490:16a; Sung hui-yao kao ts’e 197:8b;
Hsü Tzu-chih t’ung-chien ch’ang-pien p.904).
In the 2nd month (March) of 1025, Uighurs offered 20 horses to
the Sung court (Sung hui-yao kao ts’e 197:8b).
In the 4th month (May) of 1025, the qaghan, princess, and chief
minister [of Kan chou] offered horses and frankincense to the Sung
court. They received silver vessels, golden belts, and brocade gowns,
each in accordance with his rank (Sung shih 490:16a; Sung hui-yao kao
ts’e 197:9a).
