The Kirghiz

The Kirghiz (Chieh-ku or Hsia-chia-ssu) lived originally in central
Siberia at the upper course of the Yenisei River. After they had
destroyed the Uighur empire, they took over the Orkhon region but
soon after 900 were pushed back by the Khitan.
