On May 19, 1105, envoys from T’ien-tso to the Sung court
demanded that it return territory to Hsia and withdraw its troops
(Sung shih 20:2a).
On July 21, 1105, Hsia envoys to the Liao court thanked [for the
marriage] and offered gifts (Liao shih 27:4a).
On Jan.12, 1106, Hsia envoys to the Liao court sought rescue from
Sung attacks. On Jan.16, Hui-tsung of Sung sent an envoy to Hsia to
discuss peace (Liao shih 27:4b).
On Feb.13, 1106, T’ien-tso sent the Commissioner of Military
Affairs of the Northern Administration and the Commissioner of
Military Affairs of the Southern Administration to the Sung court to
remonstrate with it and demand the return of territory it had seized
from Hsia (Liao shih 27:4b; 115:10b; Wen-hsien t’ung-k’ao 346:24b).
On July 23, 1106, Hsia envoys to the Liao court thanked [for the
mediation] (Liao shih 27:4b; 115:10b).
On Nov.14, 1106, Hsia envoys to the Liao court announced that
their state had made peace with Sung (Liao shih 27:4b).
In 1107, Hsia offered gifts to the Sung court in order to restore the
old relationship (Sung shih 20:6b; 486:15a).
On Aug.2, 1108, envoys from Ch’ien-shun announced to the Liao
court that the Princess of Ch’eng-an had given birth to a son (Liao
shih 27:5b; 115:10b).
On Apr.15, 1109, Hsia envoys to the Liao court complained that
Sung had not returned territory. During the same year, Hsia envoys
offered gifts to the Sung court (Sung shih 20:6b; Liao shih 27:5b; 115:
10b).
On Feb.18, 1110, Hsia offered gifts to the Sung court (Sung shih
20:10a).
On July 4, 1110, Hsia envoys offered gifts to the Liao court (Liao
shih 27:6a; 115:10b).
On July 21, 1113, Hsia envoys offered gifts to the Liao court (Liao
shih 27:7b; 115:10b).
In 1115, war between Sung and Hsia began anew. The Sung
armies attacked victoriously by two routes in the spring but were
utterly defeated in the fall. In the winter, Hsia cavalry raided Chinese
territory and then withdrew (Sung shih 486:15b, 16a).
In spite of the war, Hsia offered gifts to the Sung court on Sep.11,
1115 (Sung shih 20:10a). Fighting continued until 1119 (Sung shih 20:
10a; 486:16a-17a).
In the 10th month (Nov./Dec.) of 1119, Hsia envoys congratulated
