birthday. He appointed an Auxiliary General of the Guards as envoy
to take gifts to Hsia (Chin shih 11:4b).
On Sep.22, 1199, Hsia envoys to the Chin court congratulated on
the birthday of Chang-tsung (Chin shih 11:5a-5b).
On Jan.18, 1200, the New Year’s Day, Hsia envoys congratulated
at the Chin court (Chin shih 11:6a).
In the 10th month (Nov./Dec.) of 1200, Chang-tsung appointed
an Auxiliary General of the Guards as envoy to congratulate the Hsia
ruler on his birthday (Chin shih 11:8a).
On Feb.5, 1201, the New Year’s Day, Hsia envoys congratulated at
the Chin court. On Apr.9, they congratulated again. At this occasion
or soon thereafter, they sought medicines for Shun-yu’s sick mother.
The Chin court provided these in the 8th month (Aug./Sep.) (Chin
shih 11:8b, 9a; 134:7a).
On Sep.29, 1201, Hsia envoys to the Chin court congratulated on
the birthday of Chang-tsung (Chin shih 11:10a).
On Nov.24, 1201, Chang-tsung appointed a Supernumerary Gentle-
man of the Ministry of Punishments as envoy to congratulate the Hsia
ruler on his birthday (Chin shih 11:10b).
On Jan.16, 1202, the New Year’s Day, Hsia envoys congratulated
at the Chin court. On Sep.18, they congratulated on the birthday of
Chang-tsung (Chin shih11:11a, 12a).
On Sep.30, 1202, Chang-tsung appointed an Auxiliary General of
the Guards as envoy to congratulate the Hsia ruler on his birthday
(Chin shih 11:12a).
On Feb.14, 1203, the New Year’s Day, Hsia envoys congratulated
at the Chin court. On Sep.7, they congratulated on the birthday of
Chang-tsung (Chin shih 11:12b, 14a).
On Dec.2, 1203, Chang-tsung appointed an envoy to congratulate
the Hsia ruler on his birthday (Chin shih 11:14b).
On Feb.3, 1204, the New Year’s Day, Hsia envoys congratulated
at the Chin court. On Sep.25, they congratulated on the birthday of
Chang-tsung (Chin shih 12:1a, 3b).
On Jan.22, 1205, the New Year’s Day, Hsia envoys congratulated
at the Chin court. On Oct.14, they congratulated on the birthday of
Chang-tsung (Chin shih 12:4a, 5b).
On Feb.10, 1206, Hsia envoys to the Chin court congratulated on
the New Year’s Day (Chin shih 12:6b).
