On Jan.21, 1050, envoys from the Liao Empress Dowager and from
Hsing-tsung arrived at the Sung court to congratulate on the New
Year’s Day of Jan.26 (Hsü Tzu-chih t’ung-chien ch’ang-pien p.1540).
On Feb.6, 1050, Liao envoys arrived at the Sung court and
announced that their state was attacking Hsia (Hsü Tzu-chih t’ung-
chien ch’ang-pien p.1543).
On Apr.7, 1050, Liao envoys to the Sung court announced that their
armies had withdrawn from Hsia. Jen-tsung sent a Han-lin Apprentice
as his envoy in response (Sung shih 12:1a, 1b).
On May 4, 1050, envoys from the Liao Empress Dowager and from
Hsing-tsung arrived at the Sung court to congratulate on the birthday
of Jen-tsung^150 (Hsü Tzu-chih t’ung-chien ch’ang-pien p.1544).
On July 10, 1050, Sung envoys to the Liao court congratulated on
the war against Hsia (Liao shih 20:5a).
On Feb.9, 1051, envoys from the Liao Empress Dowager and from
Hsing-tsung arrived at the Sung court to congratulate on the New
Year’s Day of Feb.14 (Hsü Tzu-chih t’ung-chien ch’ang-pien p.1558).
On May 23, 1051, envoys from the Liao Empress Dowager and
from Hsing-tsung arrived at the Sung court to congratulate on the
birthday of Jen-tsung^151 (Hsü Tzu-chih t’ung-chien ch’ang-pien p.1564).
In the 6th month (July/Aug.) of 1051, Hsing-tsung sent envoys to
the Sung court to present objects captured in the war with Hsia (Liao
shih 20:5b-6a).
On Jan.30, 1052, envoys from the Liao Empress Dowager and from
Hsing-tsung arrived at the Sung court to congratulate on the New
Year’s Day of Feb.4 (Hsü Tzu-chih t’ung-chien ch’ang-pien p.1577).
On May 12, 1052, envoys from the Liao Empress Dowager and
from Hsing-tsung arrived at the Sung court to congratulate on the
birthday of Jen-tsung^152 (Hsü Tzu-chih t’ung-chien ch’ang-pien p.1584).
On Jan.18, 1053, envoys from the Liao Empress Dowager and from
Hsing-tsung arrived at the Sung court to congratulate on the New
Year’s Day of Jan.23 (Hsü Tzu-chih t’ung-chien ch’ang-pien p.1600).
On Jan.28, 1053, Hsing-tsung requested from Sung envoys a portrait
of their emperor Jen-tsung, saying that he had for a long time wished
to see one (Liao shih 20:8a).
On May 1, 1053, envoys from the Liao Empress Dowager and from
