On Mar.10, 1151, Kao-tsung sent envoys to the Chin court to beg
for the release of Emperor Ch’in-tsung (Sung shih 30:17a). They were
not successful.
On July 4, 1151, a Han-lin Academician and other Chin envoys
arrived at the Southern Sung court to congratulate on the birthday
of Kao-tsung.^20 They had received their orders on Apr.7 (Sung shih
30:17b;Chin shih 5:6b).
In the 6th month (July/Aug.) of 1151, Southern Sung envoys to
the Chin court requested a minor territorial adjustment. This was
rejected (Chin shih 5:7b).
On Feb.8, 1152, the New Year’s Day, Southern Sung envoys
congratulated at the Chin court. They had received their orders on
Sep.28, 1151. On the same day, Chin envoys congratulated at the
Southern Sung court. They had arrived on Feb.4 (Sung shih 30:18a;
Chin shih 5:7b).
On Feb.23, 1152, Southern Sung envoys to the Chin court congratu-
lated on the birthday of the Dismissed Emperor. They had received
their orders on Sep.28, 1151 (Sung shih 30:18a; Chin shih 5:8a).
On June 23, 1152, a Master of Writing of the Ministry of Punish-
ments and other Chin envoys arrived at the Southern Sung court to
congratulate on the birthday of Kao-tsung.^21 They had received their
orders on Apr.7 (Sung shih 30:18b; Chin shih 5:8a).
On Jan.27, 1153, the New Year’s Day, the Dismissed Emperor
did not hold a reception. He ordered the high officials to receive the
tribute and gifts of the Southern Sung envoys. On the same day, a
Fiscal Commissioner-in-chief and other Chin envoys congratulated
at the Southern Sung court. They had received their orders on Jan.7
and arrived on Jan.24 (Sung shih 30:9a; Chin shih 5:9a).
On Feb.11, 1153, Southern Sung envoys to the Chin court congratu-
lated on the birthday of the Dismissed Emperor (Chin shih 5:9b).
On June 13, 1153, the Commissioner of the Palace Attendants of
the Left and other Chin envoys to the Southern Sung court congratu-
lated on the birthday of Kao-tsung. They had received their orders
on Apr.27 (Sung shih 31:1b; Chin shih 5:9b).^22
