On Jan.18, 1200, the New Year’s Day, Southern Sung envoys
congratulated at the Chin court. They had received their orders on
Oct.18, 1199. On the same day, a local Administrator and other Chin
envoys congratulated at the Southern Sung court. They had received
their orders in the 11th month (Nov./Dec.) of 1199, and arrived on
Jan.14, 1200 (Sung shih 37:13b; Chin shih 11:5b, 6a).
On July 16, 1200, the Southern Sung Empress Dowager died. She
had been Kuang-tsung’s empress and was the mother of Ning-tsung.
On July 20, Ning-tsung sent envoys to the Chin court to announce
her death (Sung shih 37:14b).
After the abdicated Emperor Kuang-tsung had died on Sep.17, 1200,
Ning-tsung on Sep.20 sent envoys to the Chin court to announce his
death (Sung shih 37:15a).
On Oct.10, 1200, Southern Sung envoys to the Chin court con-
gratulated on the birthday of Chang-tsung. They had received their
orders on July 20 (Sung shih 37:14b; Chin shih 11:7b).
On Nov.11, 1200, Ning-tsung sent envoys with Kuang-tsung’s
testamentary gifts to the Chin court, where they were received on
Feb.15, 1201 (Sung shih 37:15a-15b; Chin shih 11:8b).
On Dec.14, 1200, the Southern Sung empress died. Envoys to the
Chin court announced her death on Dec.24 (Sung shih 37:15b; Chin
shih 11:8b).
In the 11th month (Dec./Jan., 1201) of the Chin year 1200, Chang-
tsung sent a Master of Writing of the Ministry of Works and other
envoys to Southern Sung to condole and sacrifice [on the death of
Kuang-tsung]. This mission was received at the Southern Sung court
on Jan.23, 1201. In the 12th month (Jan./Feb., 1201), Chang-tsung
sent the Army Commander of a Circuit and other envoys to condole
and sacrifice [on the death of the empress]. This mission was received
on Mar.1, 1201 (Sung shih 37:15b; 38:1a; Chin shih 11:8b).
During the 12th month (Jan./Feb., 1201) of the Chinese year 1200,
Ning-tsung sent envoys to the Chin court to thank for the condolence
[for Kuang-tsung] (Sung shih 37:15b-16a).
On Feb.5, 1201, the New Year’s Day, Southern Sung envoys con-
gratulated at the Southern Sung court. They had received their orders
on Nov.13, 1200. On the same day, the Vice Palace Inspector of the
Right and other Chin envoys congratulated at the Southern Sung
court. They had received their orders in the 11th month (Dec./Jan.,
1201) of the Chin year 1200, and arrived on Feb.1, 1201 (Sung shih
37:15b, 16a; Chin shih 11:8b).
