On the Basketball court, the
men’s teams University of Zagreb
(CRO) and Vytautas Magnus
University (LTU) confronted each
other in the final games, with the
Lithuanian University emerging
as the champion of Basketball at
the European Universities Games
2024 in Miskolc, Hungary. The
bronze medal was claimed by the
University of Seville (ESP).In the women’s Basketball
competitions, this title belonged
to the University of Bologna (ITA),
followed by the silver medal from
the University of Vienna (AUT),and the University of Lyon (FRA)
completed the podium, winning
the match for the bronze medal.Besides the top three taking the
gold, silver, and bronze medals,
the awards for Fair Play, All-
Star teams, and Most Valuable
Players, were presented as well.The Fair Play award in the
men’s competition was proudly
raised by Gdansk University of
Technology (POL), while in the
women’s competition this award
was presented to the University
of Vienna (AUT).A total number of 394 participants, competing in 16 male and 12 female
teams, making a total number of 28 teams, coming from 23 different
universities from 16 countries, participated in the Basketball competition
held in Miskolc as part of the European Universities Games 2024.
