The competition for the women’s
teams, lasted one day less than
the men’s, having matches in
three sports halls: the Olah Gabor
sports complex, Fonix Arena, and
Desok Sports Hall.
Anticipated and exciting Futsal
matches marked this year’s
futsal competition, bringing on
new champions, victories, and
lessons learned.
In the men’s competition,
University of Zagreb (CRO)
claimed third place against the
University of Maia (POR) in the
match for the bronze medal.
After the spectacular final, they
were joined on the podium by
the Ivano-Frankivsk College of
Physical Education (UKR), which
took second place. Finally, the
University of Seville (ESP) lifted
the trophy after anticipating a
session of penalties.
Individual awards were given
at the end of the men’s Futsal
games. The award for MVP was
given to Manuel Sanchez Cortes
from University of Seville (ESP),
while Best Scorer was Novak
Filip from University of Zagreb
(CRO).
Title of Best Goalkeeper went
to Alvaro Carrion Tejedor from
University of Seville (ESP). The
Fair play was received by the
Norwegian University of Science
and Technology (NOR).
In the All Star team, two other
players were as well awarded:
Masevych Marian and Nazar
Shved from Ivano-Frankivsk
College of Physical.
In the women’s competition,
the grand finale was between
National Pedagogical
Dragomanov University (UKR)
facing off against Nantes
A total of 449 participants, with
18 men’s and 12 women’s teams,
representing 27 universities and
15 European countries, took part
in the Futsal competition, held in
Debrecen, as part of the European
Universities Games 2024.
