(^14) Seoul – Yange Pyeong (Yangpyeong) – 91 km
Shortly before nine, I headed out of town, grinning from ear to ear at
the opportunity to discover this new country. There’s such a fantastic
sense of freedom cycling in a direction, not knowing where you’re
heading. While significantly more remained to explore in Seoul, I was
eager to hit the road and turned my mobile home toward the river
and soon landed upon the famed cycle path alongside the mighty Han
River. At the time, I understood it was the longest bicycle path
globally. Moreover, the day was a public holiday, and the path was
filled with cyclists dressed to the nines.
Twice, I met other cyclists, and the spacious pathway made chatting
easy. As a result, I received a stack of information, all of which came
in handy during my ride.
A wave of joy washed over me, and I realized I didn’t want to do
anything else. The best part was that the route ran along the old rail
line, which made it flat, and riding through old rail tunnels avoided all
hills.
