Place de la Castre, a medieval tower that has been

converted into a museum, at the top of the old town in

Cannes. Dinner was by Julia Sedefdjian, the youngest chef

to be bestowed a Michelin Star, and the wine list was the

best I’ve ever seen at an event, including Château Latour and

Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle. Not to mention the stellar

women in attendance, like Salma Hayek, Diane Kruger and

Kristen Stewart. Another was the amfAR after-party at Hotel

du Cap at Eden Rock. The DJ spun audio gold till the early

hours of the morning, while the headliners of the night were

Ellie Goulding, Sting, Grace Jones and Shaggy,

whom I got to meet and chat with over drinks.

THE MAISON

I rented a stunning villa with a group of friends so it was

a perennial house party! We had fantastic sea views and

a pool, and were just a 15-minute strollaway from

Promenade de la Croisette, the heart of Cannes.

The owner told me Elizabeth Taylor once stayed at this

very villa during the festival many years ago.
