of Albus Lumen hits South America

WHERE TO GO: “Peru is one of those places
that is so raw and untouched. When I’m there I
feel spiritually and culturally elevated. I was really
amazed by Ollantaytambo. During the Incan
Empire, Ollantaytambo was the royal estate
of Emperor Pachacuti. He conquered the region
and built the ceremonial cemeteries and town;
its grandness is breathtaking. Obviously, there’s
Machu Picchu and Salineras de Maras, too.”

WHERE TO STAY AND EAT: “Villa Tayta in
Urubamba Sacred Valley is pure magic. The
guarded property consists of four Peruvian
‘casas’ perfectly tucked between snow-capped
mountains and desert valleys and allows a fully
immersed Peruvian experience. Chicha in
Cusco is great dining—it’s relaxed and explores
regional foods. I recommend the ceviche.”

WHAT TO DO: “For me, Peru’s local markets
are everything. The handcrafted hats, pots
and rugs are unique to the country, so I enjoy
supporting the local vendors. The Incan
people are what make [Peru] extraordinary.”

WHAT TO PACK: “I like to keep it simple:
all black, sunglasses and lots of basics that I’m
happy to walk in for hours. For the plane, Apple
AirPods, La Mer Crème de la Mer moisturiser,
plus my Woolmark Company scarf and eye mask
—they’re the perfect in-flight accessories.”
