women’s teams, representing 22 universities from 14
countries, competed in the 15
th
European Universities
Basketball Championship, which took place across
three sports centres in Poznan, Poland.
The competition was organised
by the University Sports
Association of Poznan, together
with the University Sports
Association of Poland.
EUSA was represented
in Poznan by Technical
Commission member Mr Marko
Zunic and Technical Delegate
Mr Peter George alongside
assistant Ms Pascale Weivers.
In the men’s final, the title
of champions went to Italy’s
University of Bologna who won
an exhilarating match 90-
against Beykent University from
Turkey. Both teams had met
already in the final of last year’s
European Universities Games
in Coimbra, with the Italian side
making it two from two against
their Turkish counterparts.
