WATER POLO CHAMPIONSHIP

Taking place alongside the European Universities

Beach Volleyball Championship, the very first edition

of the European Universities Water Polo Championship

took place in the coastal city of Koper in Slovenia.

After being included as a

demonstrative sport at the

European Universities Games

2016 in Zagreb/Rijeka, and

following a solitary edition

of the EUSA Water Polo Cup

held in Koper, Slovenia in 2017,

Water Polo was included as an

official sport on the European

Universities Championships

programme in 2019.

A total of 78 male participants

from five universities and five

different countries took part in

the competition, organised by

the Slovenian University Sports

Association and the University

Sports Association of Primorska,

with the contribution of the City

of Koper Municipality.

Present in Koper on behalf of

EUSA was Executive Committee

Member Mr Bruno Barracosa

as well as Water Polo Technical

Delegate Mr Attila Marosvari.

Despite having just five teams in

attendance, the competition was
