Yothu Yindi were the headline act here in 2019.

It was the fi rst time the multi-award winning

Indigenous dance music act had performed together

since the passing of founding member and former

Australian of the Year Mandawuy Yunupingu in 2013.

Needless to say the crowd loved it, especially aft er

seeing new Indigenous music sensations Baker Boy

and Thandi Phoenix perform earlier that evening.

In this festival, based on the iconic Banjo Paterson

poem, many of Australia’s top country horsemen

and women compete in a gruelling three-day event

involving diff erent types of horsemanship, among

many other bush activities.
