AA and Qatar Airways
revive partnership
AMERICAN AIRLINES AND QATAR AIRWAYS have signed
a codeshare agreement, marking the return of a commercial
partnership that ended in 2017 amid an ongoing dispute regarding
alleged state subsidies given to the major Gulf carriers. AA said in a
statement that it was the “first step” in a new strategic partnership,
and that it would begin exploring options for additional services

Willie Walsh is to delay his planned retirement, as the
company steers its way through the coronavirus pandemic.
The group, which comprises British Airways, Aer Lingus,
Iberia, Level and Vueling, has outlined huge capacity and cost
cuts for the coming months as the global aviation industry
takes a hammering. Staff jobs are also at risk, and BA chief
executive Alex Cruz has warned that the crisis will prove to be
