VS
BIOLOGY The simple
answer is no; indeed all
animals seem to have
different blood types. Fish
have not been specifically
researched, but every
species that has been
studied has its own system.
We know most about the
blood types of domestic
animals, and of mammals
such as dogs, cats, cattle,
pigs, and horses. Related
animals often have related
blood-type systems, so that
the antigens which define
the human ABO blood type
system also exist in chimps,
bonobos and gorillas. Their
blood types are, however,
not quite the same, so blood
transfusion across species is
not possible. Different blood
types probably developed
as an evolutionary step to
improve resistance against
diseases. The more genetic
variation in a species, the
more viable it is.
Do fish have the same
blood types as people?
NUMBER OF
BLOOD TYPES
Cats: 3
Humans: 8
Horses: 8
Cows: 9
Dogs: 13
Pigs: 15 Scientists do not know about fish blood types, but all studied species
have different blood types, most likely developed to resist disease.
NASA’s new huge rocket has more than 30 times as
much engine power as a Boeing 747 and is taller than
the Statue of Liberty. Its first mission will be the lunar
mission of Artemis 1, which is planned for late 2020.
SpaceX's biggest rocket can lift the weight of a
fully-loaded Boeing 737 into an orbit around Earth.
The Falcon Heavy flew its first mission in February
2018, when a Tesla car was launched into space.
